US stock indices declined on Friday after a spate of disappointing US data, which sent Wall Street to weekly losses.
Earlier data showed the Michigan\Reuters consumer confidence index rose to 59.5 in September, while analysts expected a rise to 60.
Concerns continue to dominate the markets since the release of US consumer prices data which showed continued inflationary pressures.
Therefore central banks, including the Fed, will aggressive continue to tighten monetary policies to rein in runaway inflation.
Dow Jones fell 0.4%, or 139 points to 30,822, with a weekly loss of 4.1%, and a session-low at 30,550.
S&P 500 tumbled 0.7%, or 28 points to 3,873, marking a weekly loss of 4.8%, with a session-low at 3,837.
NASDAQ fell 0.9%, or 104 points to 11448, with a weekly loss of 5.5%, marking a session-high at 11,460, and a session-low at 11,317.
