US stocks fall after opening higher

US stocks fell today after opening higher due to uncertainty concerns over the global economy, especially the US economy.

The Fed meeting minutes yesterday showed a division between the bank members over interest rates, as several saw a half point cut while others saw keeping it unchanged.

The bank officials insisted on waiting for local and international markets updates to make the appropriate decision based on the upcoming data.

Meanwhile, the ECB meeting minutes showed today that bank officials are considering cutting rates and launching an asset purchases program to protect the economic growth from the slowdown risks.

By 14:52 GMT, Dow Jones fell by 0.2% or 70 points to 26,130 points, Nasdaq shed 0.9% or 74 points to 7,975, and S&P 500 fell by 0.6% or 17 points to 2,906.
