US stock indices fell in early trading on Thursday, after disappointing economic data, and the release of several corporate earnings results.
Data showed today the Chinese GDP reading showed a growth of 7.9% during the second quarter, lower than forecasts of 8%.
China's industrial production rose 8.3% during the second quarter, retail sales rose 12.1%, and the unemployment rate held at 5%.
The US unemployment claims fell to 360K last week, from the previous reading of 386K, worse than forecasts of 350K.
The US industrial production rose 0.4% during June, lower than forecasts of a rise by 0.6%.
As for stocks, Dow Jones fell 0.1% or 40 points to 34,892 as of 13:58 GMT, and S&P 500 fell 0.1% or 6 points to 4,367, while Nasdaq fell 0.1% or 4 points to 14,640.
