US durable goods orders rose 0.4% in April, missing estimates of 0.6%, and below March's 1.1% rise.
Core orders rose 0.3%, missing estimates of 0.5%, and below 1.4% in the March reading.
Now investors await Fed's last meeting minutes to gauge the path of policy tightening this year.
Dow Jones rose 0.5% to 32,074 as of 14:32 GMT, while S&P 500 climbed 0.7% to 3,968, as NASDAQ rallied 1.1% to 11,384.
