Dow Jones soars more than 1200 points in early trade

The main US stock indices surged in early trading on Tuesday, amid optimism about the upcoming US fiscal stimulus package.

 

The Trump's administration have proposed a $2 trillion stimulus package to provide support to US companies and families to ease the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Following the Senate failure to pass the aforementioned package for two times this week, many expect that the US lawmakers will ratify the aid package later today.

 

Speaker of the US House of Representatives and Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi, stated that they're very close to reaching a deal.

 

While the US Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, assured that the US is able to eliminate the coronavirus and its impact within 12 weeks.

 

As for stocks, Dow Jones added 6.5% or 1,214 points to 19,806 as of 14:58 GMT, Nasdaq rose by 5.1% or 350 point to 7,210, and S&P 500 rose by 5.6% or 125 points to 2,361.
