The major US stock benchmarks opened higher on Tuesday, as fears over the transition of power in the US eased, with Dow Jones surpassing the 30,000 barrier.
President Donald Trump gave the green light for the transition of power to the president-elect Joe Biden's team, which is considered as a main step in Trump's official conceding of the election.
AstraZeneca said that its vaccine, developed in collaboration with the University of Oxford, may reach 90% efficacy in preventing Covid-19, and added that it will be able to provide 200 million doses of the vaccine by the end of this year.
As for stocks, Dow Jones rose 1.1% or 330 points to 29,920 as of 14:55 GMT, Nasdaq rose 0.1% or 14 points to 11,895, and S&P 500 rose 0.7% or 27 points to 3,604.
