The main US stock benchmarks fell on Tuesday, driven by the energy sector's losses, while the market await the US presidential debate.
The market is focusing on the first US presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democrat candidate Joe Biden.
Analysts see that investors will base their decisions on the results of this debate, despite other important data such as the US monthly jobs report and GDP reading that will be released later this week.
To the oil market, WTI October futures at Nymex fell 3.2% or $1.31, to close at $39.29 a barrel, after hitting a day high of $40.7 and a low of $38.4.
Brent November futures lost 3.3% or $1.40, to $41.03 a barrel, with a high of $42.5 and a low of $40.4.
As for stocks, Dow Jones fell 0.5% or 131 points to close at 27,452, after it hit a day high 27,605 and a low 27,338.
Nasdaq dropped 0.3% or 32 points to 11,085, after it hit a high 11,153 and a low 11,065.
S&P 500 fell 0.5% or 16 points to 3,335, after it hit a high 3,357 and a low 3,327.
