France manufacturing tumbles, services rises in August

France`s manufacturing Purchasing Managers` Index (PMI) fell sharply to 46.5 in August from 47.8 in July, Markit economics reported on Thursday, missing expectations of 47.8.
However, French PMI services advanced to 51.1 in August from 50.4 a month earlier, beating analysts’ expectations of 50.2.
