Asian stocks opened mostly higher today, as the Japanese, Australian stocks and Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose, while New Zealand's stocks fell, amid a public holiday in both China and South Korea.

The Asian market drew support from the cautious optimism in the market about resolving the US-China trade war, in addition to the European Central Bank supporting the european economy with new stimulus measures, amid anticipation for the US Fed meeting by next week in Washington.

The Japanese stocks saw a rise today, with Topix rising by 0.45% or 1.13 points to reach 1,602.23points, and Nikkei 225 also rose by 0.86% or 187.92 points to 21,947.53.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 0.18% or 48.70 points to 27,136.33, while New Zealand's NZX 50 fell by 0.26% or 28.67 points to 10,876.39, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose by 0.11% or 7.13 points to 6,662.00.
