Asian stocks opened today with a mixed performance, as the Chinese and New Zealand with Hong Kong and South Korea's stocks fell, while both the Japanese and the Australian stocks rose, as the market awaits the launch of the Us Fed's Symposium in Jackson Hole, Kansas City.
Global bankers, finance ministers and financial market participants are expected to show up in the Jackson Hole symposium which will last for three days, while US Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell will deliver a speech on Friday under the title of Challenges of monetary policy.
The Japanese stocks rose today, with Topix rising by 0.02% or 0.031 points to 1,497.82, and Nikkei 225 index rose by 0.14% or 29.30 points to 20,647.87.
While the Chinese stocks opened lower, with the CSI 300 shedding 0.05% or 1.70 points to 3,780.06, and Shanghai Composite fell by 0.22% or 6.32 to 2,874.01.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.81% or 212.56 points to 26,057.48, while the South Korean Kospi index dropped 0.43% or 8.52 points to 1,956.13.
To New Zealand's NZX 50, which fell by 0.13% or 14.10 points to 10,695.22, While Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose by 0.31% or 20.04 points to 6,503.30.
