Asia opens mostly higher

Asian stock indices opened the week mostly higher, with Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, and South Korea higher, while New Zealand lost ground, as China closes for a holiday. 

 

Trump's intended ban of TickTok was halted temporarily by a federal judge, representing a blow to Trump's efforts to counter the famous Chinese app. 

 

Japan's TOPEX rose 0.78%, while Nikkei 225 rose 0.72% to 23,371. 

 

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.53%, while South Korea's KOSPI rose 1.51% to 2,313. 

 

New Zealand's NZX 50 fell 0.32%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.05% to 5,967.
