U.S. stock indices opened lower on Tuesday amid concerns about U.S. President-elect Trump's policies, adding to worries about Britain's exit from the European Union, which raised fears in the markets and pushed them lower.

Wall Street's decline comes amid worries about Trump's policies, which didn't point to his stimulus plans to boost U.S. growth, which added to markets' concerns.

On the other hand, U.K. Prime Minister's speech today soothed the markets about the British exit from the Union and sent the pound soaring against the dollar, but it failed to underpin Wall Street today.

On the other hand, the dollar skidded today against main currencies, underpinning U.S. stock and preventing a full decline.

Standard and Poor's 500 fell 0.35%, or 8.05 points to 2,266.59, while Dow Jones fell 0.03%, or 5.36 points to 19,880.37.

Tech-heavy NASDAQ shed 0.37%, or 20.77 points to 5,553.34.
