Wall Street falls as trade war concerns continue

US stocks opened lower today as the US-China trade tensions continued in addition to Hong Kong's protests intensifying.

Experts fear that the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong could disrupt the markets in the region.

Thousands of protesters gathered at a facility at Hong Kong International Airport, prompting authorities to cancel all flights from or to the airport.

Meanwhile, there's no signs about the US and China to give the market hopes about the trade war between the two countries.

The US administration is still going to impose a 10% tariffs increase on imports of Chinese goods worth $300 billion starting from September 1st, and China responded by stopping US agricultural goods purchases.

As of 15:03 GMT, Dow Jones fell by 0.8% or 224 points to 260673, Nasdaq fell by 0.7% or 60 points to 7898, and S&P 500 fell by 0.7% or 22 points to 2896 points.
