US stock indices rose on Thursday ahead of Fed Chair Powell's testimony ahead of the Senate.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell said yesterday the Fed is committed to control prices even if that led to a recession.

Such remarks bolstered expectations of another 75 basis points hike in July, and a 50 basis points hike in September.

US unemployment claims rose to 229 thousand in the week ending June 18, missing estimates of 227 thousand.

Dow Jones rose 0.3% to 30,585, while S&P 500 climbed 0.5% to 3,777, as NASDAQ added 0.8% to 11,141.
