A US trade delegation led by US trade representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is due to travel to Beijing next week for discussions between the two sides as to move the stagnant water between the two sides.

This comes despite the final stages of trade negotiations between Washington and Beijing, but the administration of President Donald Trump wants to remove all the obstacles to the conclusion of a trade agreement between the two countries.

Earlier this month, Lighthizer announced that the negotiations were already well underway, which was a confirmation of Trump's comments, referring to the resolution of major differences over the protection of intellectual property rights and US technology from Chinese piracy.

However, sources told Bloomberg news agency that the US administration fears that China will not pledge the commitments it makes during the ongoing negotiations.
