US stocks rise following upbeat Chinese data

The main US stock indices opened higher on Tuesday, following the release of upbeat Chinese data, amid focus on the latest developments of the coronavirus outbreak in the US.

 

Optimism surged in global markets today after the release of upbeat Chinese industrial data during this month.

 

The data indicate China has succeeds in containing the deadly virus and its manufacturing and service sectors are restarting to pre-pandemic levels.

 

While in the US the number of coronavirus infections rose to more than 160,000 cases, and over than 3,000 deaths.

 

As for stocks, Dow Jones rose 0.5% or 102 points to 22,433 as of 14:20 GMT, Nasdaq rose 1% or 77 points to 7,851, and S&P 500 added 0.3% 8 points to 2,635.
