The major US stock indices saw mixed performance on Wednesday, amid pressures on the technology sector, and anticipation for more statements from Federal Reserve's members.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said in a hearing before the US House that the Congress should pump extra stimulus to small firms to help ease the coronavirus impact.

Chicago Fed President Charles Evans said that without fiscal support from Congress, the US economy will be at recession risk

Data showed that the US house price index rose by 1%, beating forecasts of 0.4%, which indicates the US housing market is continuing its recovery.

As for stocks, Dow Jones rose 0.2% or 50 points to 27,339 as of 15:32 GMT, Nasdaq fell 0.6% or 65 points to 10,901, and S&P 500 rose 0.2% or 7 points to 3,308.
