The US consumer price index for June rose by 0.1%, better than economists' expectations of a 0.0% gain, the the same as the previous reading, which rose 0.1%.
The core consumer price index (excluding food and fuel products) for the same month rose by 0.3%, better than the 0.2% forecast, better than the previous 0.1% increase. This statement is positive for the US dollar.
