Aussie falls off four-week high against US dollar

Australian dollar fell in Asian trade away from June 14 highs against US dollar, following earlier data from Australia and before US inflation data. 

 

As of 02:16 GMT, AUD/USD slid 0.47% to 0.7424 fro the opening of 0.7459, with an intraday low at 0.7407, and a high at 0.7460. 

 

Earlier Australian data showed the Westpac Consumer Sentiment survey issued by the Westpac Banking Corporation up  3.9% to 106.1 from 102.1 in June, while home loans rose 1.1% in May, compared to a 0.9% drop in April, while analysts expected a 1.9% fall. 

 

Now markets await US producer prices data, expected to show growth slowing down to 0.2% from 0.5% in April, while core prices are expected to have slowed down as well to 0.2% from 0.3%. 

 

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic is scheduled  to speak at the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants later today.
