Silver prices wavered on Monday after setting a one-week high as the dollar gave up ground against a basket of rivals, buoying the white metal.
Silver last traded at $16.42 an ounce, compared to the opening price of $15.43, with an intraday low at $16.33, and a one-week trough at $16.52.
Silver's gains come as demand rose on the safe haven as expectations for a Fed rate hike tumbled following the dismal payrolls report.
The dollar on the other hand kept falling against a basket of rivals after the payrolls report, helping the white metal stake out gains and recover the losses made recently.
The dollar index, which gauges the U.S. currency's performance versus a basket of major peers, last traded at 94.05, compared to the opening of 94.11, with a session-low at 94.01, and a high at 94.26, after the index hit a three-week trough last Friday at 93.86 following the dismal payrolls report.
