Asian stocks open higher in tandem with Wall Street

Asian stock indices opened the fourth session of the week higher in tandem with Wall Street ahead of the European Central Bank's meeting today, expected to maintain rates and current policies, and possibly hint at further stimulus later this year.

 

Japan's TOPEX rose 0.74% to 1,617, while Nikkei 225 rose 0.56% to 23,161.

 

China's CSI 300 rose 0.95%, while Shanghai climbed 0.41% to 3,267. 

 

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.12%, while South Korea's KOSPI rose 0.75% to 2,393. 

 

New Zealand's NZX 50 rose 0.95%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.41% to 5,902.
