Asia opens last session of week mixed

Asian stock indices opened the fifth session of the week mixed with Japan mixed while China, Australia, New Zealand higher, as Hong Kong and South Korea lost ground. 

 

China announced it brought control to the coronavirus outbreak in Beijing after a recent spike in cases. 

 

Four US states registered record increases in Covid 19 infections while cases continue to surge in Latin America and South Asia. 

 

Japan's TOPEX fell 0.34%, while Nikkei 225 rose 0.14% to 22,386. 

 

China's CSI 300 rose 0.69%, while Shanghai rose 0.37% to 2,950. 

 

Hong Kong's Hang Seng slipped 0.06%, while South Korea's KOSPI shed 0.39% to 2,125. 

 

New Zealand's NZX 50 rose 0.54%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.73% to 5,979.
