The New Zealand dollar rose in Asian trade off January 22 lows following local data while the US market closes down for a national holiday.
As of 02:19 GMT, NZD/USD rose 0.33% to 0.6891, with a session-low at 0.6854, and the highest since February 6 at 0.6894.
Earlier New Zealand data showed an index tracking manufacturing up to 56.3 from 53.2.
The Reserve Bank of Australia voted to hold rates at 1.75% for the 17th meeting in a row as expected by analysts.
