The American Petroleum Institute (API) revealed today in preliminary data that the US crude inventories rose by about 691,000 barrels during the past week, beating expectations of a drop by 4 million barrels.
The gasoline inventories fell 7.7 million barrels, and the distillate inventories declined 2.1 million barrels during the same period.
