The British pound rose against the US dollar today, as the positive news continued to flow about the intensive Brexit talks between the UK and the European Union.
President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said that the foundations of a Brexit deal are ready, but he also urged caution on several matters.
Tusk stated that an agreement is "theoretically" can be reached with Great Britain in the next hours or maybe tomorrow.
Which came as a result of the British PM Boris Johnson intensifying his country efforts in the Brexit talks hoping to reach a deal, but he might have to extend the talks if no deal is made.
Furthermore, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the Brexit agreement is ready, and added that Paris and Berlin have a common position on the matter.
In terms of trading, GBP/USD rose by 0.4% to 1.2833 as of 18:53 GMT, with an intraday high of 1.2868 and a low of 1.2652.
