Oil extends gains after the two tankers suspected attack in Sea of Oman
Oil rose during today amid concerns over supply shortages in the Middle East after the two tankers incident in the Sea of Oman.
The US Navy confirmed that it had received two separate distress signals from two oil tankers in the Sea of Oman and had been dealt with, pointing out that Iran giving a helping hand is untrue.
In a separate context, the dollar index rose by 0.1% to 97.05 points at 16:55 GMT, hitting a high of 97.08 and a low of 97.8.
Baker Hughes is expected tomorrow to announce the volume of drilling activities for crude and natural gas in the United States during this week.
In terms of trading, by 16:52 GMT, West Texas rose by 2.1% to $52.2 per barrel, hitting a high of $53.4 and a low of $50.9.
Brent rose 2.2% to $61.2 per barrel, its highest at $62.6 and the lowest at $59.7.
