The Energy Information Administration released its report on US natural gas stocks, showing a deficit of 112 billion cubic feet in the week ending December 22, down from a 182B deficit in the previous reading, while analysts expected a 115B drop.
Total stocks have now fallen to 3.332 trillion cubic feet from 3.444 trillion in the week ending December 15, which is below the total of the same period in 2016 at 3.394 trillion, while also below the five-year average at 3.417 trillion.
