Euro fell on Monday to a four-session low as the dollar rose against a basket of currencies, and amid renewed European concerns as the French presidential elections near, nudging the common currency lower.
EUR/USD last traded at 1.0741, down from the opening of 1.0784, with an intraday high at 1.0790, and a low at 1.0706.
Euro's fall comes after the dollar recovered against a basket of currencies away from a three-month trough hit last week, heaping pressure on the common currency.
Concerns also mounts about the impending French presidential elections as Marie Le Pan, the Far-Right wing candidate, wants France to exit the European Union, hurt the euro further.
Last week, some Federal Reserve members expressed their readiness to vote on increasing interest rates three times this year, hurting the euro and underpinning the dollar today as the negative impact of the recent jobs report wanes.
