Asian Stocks open mixed ahead of China's trade data

Asian stocks opened the last session of the week on mixed performance but mostly negative, as the Chinese, New Zealand, and Hong Kong stocks indices fell, while the Japanese indices were mixed, with the Australian and South Korea's Kospi rising on Friday as markets anticipate the release of China's trade balance reading for last month.

 

The Japanese stock indices saw a variation in performance during today's trading session, as TOPIX index fell 0.07% (1.13 points) to 1,605.39, while Nikkei 225 index rose 0.60% to win 130.52 points up to 21,841.90.

 

As for the Chinese stock indices, CSI 300 index fell by 0.72% (28.88 points) to reach 3,968.70, Shanghai Composite Index also fell 0.42% (13.39 points) to reach 3,176.57.

 

Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.26% (76.64 points) to 29,762.81, while South Korea's Kospi rose 0.08% (1.74 points) to 2.226.18.

 

To New Zealand's NZX 50 index, which fell by 0.07% (7.24 points) to reach 9,759.35. On the other hand, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index rose by 0.70% (43.13 points) to reach the level of 6,241.80.
