Asian stocks opened on mixed performance but mostly negative, with the Japanese, Chinese, Australian and New Zealand stocks falling, as well as the South Korean Kospi Index. While Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose today, following the developments and economic data by the Japanese, Australian and New Zealand economies, as well as the investors' attention being shifted to the Second International forum on the Belt and Road initiative in China.
Japanese stocks witnessed a fall during today's trading session, with the broader Topix index falling by 0.76% to lose (12.37 point) down to 1,607.91, while Nikkei 225 index also fell by 0.69% (154.53 points) down to 22,153.05.
As for the Chinese stock indices, CSI 300 fell 0.46% to lose 18.00 points and reach 3,923.82, the Shanghai Composite Index also fell 0.41% (12.94 points) to reach 3,110.89.
As for Hong Kong's Hang Sang, it rose 0.33% (96.31 points) to 29,646.11. While South Korea's Kospi Index fell 0.36% (7.89 points) to 2,182.61.
To New Zealand's NZX 50, which fell 0.30% (30.08 points) to 10,041.66. While Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index also fell 0.08% to lose 4.84 points and reached the level of 6,377.30.
