Asian stocks opened the second session of the week lower with Australia and South Korea resuming trade while China is shut for the lunar new year holiday, extended for three days as the coronavirus continues to spread, killing over 100 people so far.
Japan's TOPEX fell 0.92% to 1,686.83, while Nikkei 225 shed 0.94% to 23,124.51.
South Korea's KOSPI tumbled 3.2%, while New Zealand's NZX 50 shed 0.91%, as Australia's S&P/ASX 200 swooned 1.41% to 6,990.80.
