Wall Street declines ahead of inflation data

US stock indices declined ahead of major US data later that will pave the way for Fed policy decisions.

 

Tomorrow, US consumer prices will be released for July, expected to slow down.

US non-farm productivity fell 4.7% as expected in the second quarter, compared to a 7.3% drop in the first quarter, while labor unit costs rose 10.8%, slowing down from 12.6% in the second quarter, and beating estimates of 9.4%.

 

Dow Jones fell 0.1% to 32,804, while S&P 500 fell 0.3% to 4,126, as NASDAQ declined 1.1% to 12,504.
