The major US stock indices rose in early trading on Friday, after the Thanksgiving holiday, while on track for weekly gains.

Investors are focusing on the transition of power measures in the US from outgoing President Donald Trump to President-elect Joe Biden.

President Donald Trump earlier this week gave the green light for the transition of power to the president-elect Joe Biden's team, and Joe Biden welcomed the decision.

Otherwise, Investors await further updates about the Covid-19 vaccines, following the latest announcements of some vaccines' effectiveness by Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.

As for stocks, Dow Jones rose 0.2% or 77 points to 29,950 as of 15:11 GMT after rising above the 30,000-point barrier earlier, Nasdaq rose 0.9% or 107 points to 12,201, and S&P 500 rose 0.3% or 12 points to 3,641.
