US stocks hold in cautious trade ahead of US Fed decision

US stocks steadied today as investors cautiously await US Federal Reserve meeting, with the Saudi Arabia sabotage attacks in focus.

 

Saudi Arabia announced that Aramco's oil refineries in Khurais and Abqaiq were hit by drone attacks that led to a temporary suspension of production.

 

While Saudi officials stated today that the oil production levels will be restored in two to three weeks.

 

The US economy revealed today that US industrial production rose by 0.6% last month, higher than forecasts of 0.2%.

 

The US FOMC meeting will launch later today, and the decisions will be revealed on Wednesday, with forecasts of a rate cut.

 

As of 14:46 GMT, Dow Jones fell by 0.1% or 36 points to 2,7040 points, Nasdaq fell by 0.1% or 5 points to 8,148, and S&P 500 stabilized at 2,998.
