US stocks closed lower on Friday, and posted weekly losses on mounting woes over the coronavirus outbreak and after the release of weak US economic data.
Data showed that the US manufacturing and service sectors PMIs fell in February.
China revealed today that coronavirus death toll rose by 118 to 2,25 victims and has infected almost 76,000 cases.
To the oil market, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) lost 0.9% to close at $53.38 a barrel, and posted a 2% weekly gain, with a day high of $53.8 and a low of $52.5.
Brent fell by 1.4% to $58.50 a barrel, and gained 2.1% this week, with a high of $59.2 and a low of $57.7.
As for stocks, Dow Jones lost 0.8% or 227 points to close at 28,992, and registered 1.2% weekly losses, after it hit an intraday high 29,146 and a low 28,892.
Nasdaq shed 1.85% or 147 points to 9,576 points, and posted 1.6% weekly losses, with a high of 9,715 and a low of 9,542 points.
S&P 500 fell by 1% or 35 points to 3,337, with weekly losses of 1.3%, after hitting today's high of 3,360 and a low of 3,328.
