US stock indices rose markedly today following the release of some data.
US producer prices spiked 0.8% in May m/m, matching estimates and above April's 0.5% increase.
Core prices, excluding food and fuel, rose 0.5%, missing estimates of 0.6%.
The data is increasing inflationary pressures with eyes now fixed on the Federal Reserve's policy meeting, starting today.
Analysts have priced in a 0.5% rate hike tomorrow, and some estimates even predict a 0.75% hike.
Dow Jones rose 0.5% as of 14:01 GMT to 30,672, while S&P 500 rose 0.7% to 3,775, as NASDAQ added 0.7% to 10,891.
