Wall Street opened mixed today amid the lingering uncertainty that surroounds the US-China trade talks path.

US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are in contact with high-level Chinese officials to reach an understanding to sign the first phase of the trade deal.

This comes in efforts by the two sides to reach a final trade agreement ahead of the deadline for delaying US tariffs at December 15 which was set by President Donald Trump administration, as he threatened to increase tariffs on Chinese goods if a deal wasn't reached by that date.

Otherwise, the Chinese central bank unexpectedly cut the deposit rate to stimulate economic growth, which increased worries about China economic growth.

As for trading, Dow Ones rose by less than 0.1% or 5 points to 28,010 as of 14:58 GMT, while Nasdaq fell by 0.3% or 22 points to 8,518, and S&P 500 fell by 0.2% or 6 points to 3,114.
