US stocks rose today as Dow Jones and S&P climbed near their highest levels ever amid high hopes about the US-China trade talks.
President Trump stated that his administration has removed the tariffs on hundreds of Chinese imports.
Trump also tweeted that China is making progress in the trade talks file with the US and wants an agreement, ahead of the trade talk round scheduled on the first of October in Washington.
St.Louis Federal Reserve Bank chairman, James Bullard, said that he wanted a deeper rate cut more than the 25 bp cut that was approved last Wednesday, and pointed to the US manufacturing sector slowdown.
As of 14:45 GMT, Dow Jones rose by 0.2% or 65 points to 2,7160 points, Nasdaq rose 0.1% or 3 points to 8,187, and S&P 500 gained 0.2% or 5 points to 3,012.
