Amazon cancelled plans to build second headquarters in New York City.

The choice of New York came after a competition thrown by the company, incurring investments of billions of dollars and thousands of jobs.

Amazon aimed to invest $5 billion and create nearly 50 thousand jobs during the construction period.

However, heavy political opposition in Long Island, the site of the building, and to tax incentives promised to the company, forced Amazon to cancel the project.
