Yen rebounds from seven-week trough

Yen rose on Monday as the week opens up, amid current market tensions due to the Syrian crisis and the resultant increased haven demand.

USD/JPY rose to 107.24 from the opening of 107.46, with a session-low at 107.17, and a high at 107.60.

Yen's current rise comes as Asian stocks waver while crude prices lose ground, increasing instability and buoying demand on yen as an alternative investment.

Dollar has steadied today after last week's tumble, with markets awaiting US retail sales data.

The Federal Reserve's meeting minutes showed most of the members supporting the ongoing monetary policy and gradual interest rate hikes.
