US oil inventories rise higher than forecasts - EIA

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) released in its weekly report today that US oil inventories rose by 1.6 million barrels to 440.5 million barrels during last week, beating forecasts of a drop by 2.7 million.

 

Whilst, gasoline inventories fell by 1.4 million barrels to 233.8 million, and distillate inventories fell by 1.9 million barrels to 135.5 million.

 

The American Petroleum Institute (API) released yesterday its unofficial data which showed that inventories rose by 3.7 million barrels.
