The US Energy Information Administration reported today that crude inventories fell 800,000 barrels to 488.7 million during the past week, beating forecasts of a rise by 100,000 barrels.
Gasoline stocks rose 2.2 million to 230.1 million barrels, and distillate stocks fell 1.4 million to 142.6 million barrels.
While the American Petroleum Institute (API) revealed on Tuesday in preliminary data that the US crude inventories rose 3.8 million barrels during the same period.
