U.S. Consumer Sentiment Falls in April

U.S. consumer sentiment fell in April after enthusiasm over tax cuts waned faded, according to a Reuters survey in cooperation with the University of Michigan.

 

University of Michigan's preliminary sentiment index decreased to 96.9 points in April from 98.4 in March, while analysts expected 98 points.

 

Despite this decline, consumer confidence among Americans remains near historically strong levels.
