Silver tumbles from recent highs

Silver prices fell on Tuesday away from seven-week highs as commodity demand wanes and dollar rebounds versus major rivals.

Optimism is flooding the market after the US-North Korea summit, underpinning dollar and hurting safe havens such as gold and silver.

Silver prices fell to $16.88 an ounce from the opening of $16.89, with a session-low at $16.84, and a high at $16.92.

Silver hit July 11 highs yesterday as demand climbed on the safe haven amid global trade concerns.

Caution remains ahead of the highly-anticipated Federal Reserve's policy meeting this week, expected to include an interest rate hike and policy tightening measures.
