Stock and bond markets in the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Brazil, Singapore, Germany, France, and Italy have closed today due to an official holiday.

People of these countries celebrate the Good Friday today, also known as "Friday of sorrow" ahead of the Easter holiday next Monday.

US stocks closed the last sessions of the week yesterday mostly higher, as the majority of the major indexes gained weekly gains.

Focus is still on the trade negotiations between the United States and China and its results, in light of the positive statements on a near-reaching of an agreement between the two countries.
