Japanese Yen drops ahead of BOJ decision

Japanese Yen fell against the US dollar and most major currencies, as it got under pressure today ahead of the Japanese central bank's interest rate decision.

 

The Bank of Japan will announce tomorrow its interest rate decision, which analysts forecast it will remain unchanged at -0.10%, with a press conference of the Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda afterward.

 

Kuroda is expected to demonstrate the central bank's short-term monetary policy plans, as well as clues regarding the global economic growth slowdown and trade disputes.

 

Meanwhile, regarding trade negotiations between the two largest economies in the world, US President Donald Trump said that talks are going very well with the Chinese side.

 

This comes ahead of a new round of trade talks between Washington and Beijing in the Chinese capital on April 30.

 

In terms of trading, by 18:34 GMT, USD/JPY rose by 0.3% to 112.2, as and hit the highest price today at 112.2 and the lowest price at 111.6.
