The British pound rose against the US dollar on Monday, after positive data about the growth of the UK's economy during the third quarter after contraction in the second quarter.
The British politician, Nigel Farage, said that his party will not compete for the 317 seats won by the Conservative Party in 2017 that allowed it to form the government of Theresa May and Boris Johnson.
Data showed today that Britain's GDP grew by 0.3% in the third quarter vs. a contraction 0.2% in the three months ending in June 30.
Meanwhile, the markets are eagerly anticipating any updates regarding the Brexit file and the early elections the Prime Minister Boris Johnson called for and were ratified by the parliament, which are scheduled on December 12th.
Back to trading, GBP/USD rose by 0.6% to 1.2852 as of 20:39 GMT, with an intraday high of 1.2895 and a low of 1.2771.
