The British Pound held steadily against most currencies on Monday, following the Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey's remarks.
Bailey said today in a webinar that he thinks the British economy has begun to recover from the coronavirus pandemic effects.
However, Bailey sees there's still a long way for the full recovery from and has expressed concern about the job losses in the UK.
The governor added in the webinar to academics and school students that he sees signs of recovery for the British economy in tandem with relaxing the lockdown restrictions and the reopening of various commercial activities.
Otherwise, the Brexit file and the UK talks with the European Union have not seen any change, amid deep differences between the two sides, which does not not bode well for an agreement.
As of 21:37 GMT, GBP/USD held at 1.2559, after the pair hit a high of 1.2563 and a low of 1.2554.
