Australian dollar tilted lower in Asian trade against its US counterpart ahead of US data today.
As of 02:20 GMT, AUD/USD fell 0.08% to 0.7161, with a session-low at 0.7151, and a high at 0.7173.
Now markets await US housing data with building permits expected down 2.8%, while housing starts are expected down 0.5% to 1.250 million.
Housing prices are estimated up 0.3%, compared to a 0.4% drop in November.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is due to testify on the Semiannual Monetary Policy Report before the Senate Banking Committee, in Washington DC.
