Ripple rises marginally as cryptocurrencies witness an upward trend

Cryptocurrencies rallied on Friday as investors sought after gold, US dollar and alternative stock assets in conjunction with concerns about slowing global economic growth.

There was concern in the global markets today with weak economic data in the eurozone and volatility in emerging markets as well as the recent reduction of the Federal Reserve's forecasts for the growth of the US economy.

As of 20:47 GMT, Ripple rose by 0.6% to $0.31, with the day's highest at $0.31 and the lowest at $0.30 while the market value reached $31.2 billion.

Bitcoin today rose by 0.3% to $4003,with  the highest price at $4018.5 and the lowest price at $3979.5, while its market value reached $70.4 billion.
